All pupils have the opportunity to attend out-of-school activities during the year. These are visits associated with work children are involved in at school or clubs they attend. Parents are usually invited to make a voluntary contribution towards the cost of some activities. This money is non-refundable. We endeavour to keep costs to a minimum and to give as much notice as possible. We do, however, reserve the right to cancel visits if there are insufficient contributions.
Parents who find it difficult to provide money for visits need only have a ‘confidential’ talk with the class teacher or the Headteacher. Embarrassment to the child will be totally avoided.
Pupils whose behaviour poses a health and safety risk may not be able to join school trips and will either result in them not being allowed to go and any monies already paid will not be refundable, or they may only be allowed to attend with a parent or carer accompanying them. The accompanying adult will be charged the full cost of the trip.
It is very important to return the consent forms and the full cost of the contribution by the deadline date. Failure to do so could result in the child not being able to attend the trip and any monies paid will not be refunded.
